Tim Walls is the Group Architect at EveryMatrix, the iGaming software developer and Platform-as-a-Service Provider headquartered in Bucharest. He began his professional career 25 years ago coding i8051 assembly language for embedded systems, but somehow escaped onto that Internet thing and now has more than 20 years' experience in the Online Betting & Gaming industry - a world of high volume, low margin transaction and data processing systems at the forefront of global internet and mobile commerce. He spends his days at the intersection of business requirements, technology, and most importantly the people we ask to deliver solutions.

Fun With Fjords - Adventures in Server Sent Events

Streaming data live to the browser over the web is largely a solved problem. Doing it economically when you have tens of thousands of different datastreams for even more clients, though, is not so easy. Tim will explore some of the drawbacks to traditional approaches like WebSockets, and some of the wins (and problems) possible when we look at the problem from another angle.
