Jeremy Bauer is currently the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Molson Coors Beverage Company and is responsible for leading the Global Information Security team, including team members in our Bucharest office! As a security practitioner, he loves to share his experience and knowledge to advance the Cyber Security field forward also serving as an Adjunct Instructor of Information Security at his local technical college. Jeremy earned his Master’s degree in Information Technology & information Assurance from Capella University and also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Concordia University. Jeremy is a United States Air Force Veteran with 15 years of service in a variety of Cyber security roles.

Many security breaches begin with simple phishing and social engineering attacks that steal passwords or create remote access backdoors…. But what happens next? Is that the user reading the file server or a threat actor? Understanding the techniques of the attacker as they hunt for critical data and move laterally through your network can turn their irregular methods into our strongest detection capability. We will explore some “living off the land” attacks that take advantage of poorly configured services and flip them into our best detection alarms.
